The Allure of Vintage Paperback Bookstores

Vintage paperback is considered to be the most fascinating book among the book collectors.It is of a size of a pocket and these tomes are quite expensive also.People are after such a variety of paperback books . Known as pulp fiction, these covers often feature vintage illustrations with kitschy titles. These paperbacks are often known as Good Girl Art, which is described as a type of cover illustration that features an attractive female who is either in some sort of trouble or who is actually a bad girl such as a gun moll or a criminal. Examples of collectible titles include Homicide Johnny, The Old Battle Ax and The Werewolf of Paris. These books were considered quite scandalous during their time of publication. They are equivalent to today's smutty yet interesting titles like those by Jackie Collins or Sidney Sheldon.

Modern readers will find these books fascinating and amusing. Some of them are quite racy and can be considered for the adult category. Others are suspenseful and thrilling. Some vintage paperbacks are traditional romance stories. No matter what kind of old paperbacks you're looking for, you'll find lots of them for sale on the Internet. You'll find many sites devoted to the cover art alone. You will discover that these books are offered for different prices. You may find some of them for only a few dollars and some of them being sold for a lot more.

Vintage paperback bookstores are few and far between. However, there are lots of them online as you will see. If you don't care for shopping online, try shopping at some antique stores. You may get lucky and come across the vintage books you're searching for. One of the best things about collecting old books is the wide selection from which you can choose. Whether you like a specific genre or just collect anything that you find interesting, you will find plenty of old books out there just waiting to be discovered!
